This board is a list you read every morning. If you cannot read it, it is worth nothing to
you, so accessibility here is the product working rather than a box being ticked.
What we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We believe the
site substantially conforms today. We are not claiming perfection — no honest operator of a site this
size can — and we are claiming we will fix what you tell us about.
What we have actually done
Contrast is computed, not eyeballed. Every text and interface colour pair in both the light and
the dark theme is checked programmatically against the 4.5:1 ratio for text and 3:1 for interface
glyphs, and the build fails if a pair drops below it.
Both themes are designed. The site follows your system light or dark setting, and the dark
theme has its own colour set rather than an automatic inversion.
Keyboard operable. Every control — including the state map, the filter chips, the entry
toggles, and the account dialog — is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
The state map is not colour-alone. Each state tile carries its two-letter code as text and a
label read out by a screen reader giving the exact counts, so the colour shading is a second encoding
rather than the only one.
Status is never colour-alone. Deadline urgency, eligibility and entry status each carry a word
as well as a colour.
Reduced motion respected. The counter roll-up and other movement are switched off if your
system asks for reduced motion.
It works at phone width without sideways scrolling, and at large text sizes, because the layout
uses relative units.
Semantic markup — real headings, real buttons, real labels on every form field, and live
regions for status messages.
Known gaps
[LIST ANYTHING YOU KNOW IS NOT YET RIGHT, AND WHEN YOU EXPECT TO FIX IT. An honest, specific list here is
a defence; a claim of total conformance you cannot back up is the opposite. If you genuinely know of
none, write: "We are not currently aware of any. Tell us and this list will say so."]
Where the accessibility stops being ours
Almost every "Enter" button on this board opens a sponsor's own website in a new tab. Those sites are
not ours, we did not build them, and we cannot make them accessible. Some of them are genuinely bad. If a
sponsor's entry form is unusable for you, that is worth telling the sponsor — and worth telling us too,
because we can note it on the listing so nobody else wastes the trip.
Tell us and we will fix it
If any part of this site does not work for you, email
support@sweepwatcher.com with the page, what you were trying
to do, and what assistive technology you use if you are happy to say. We treat it as a bug. We aim to
reply within 5 business days and to tell you either that it is fixed or when it will be. If you
need something from the board that you cannot reach, say so and we will send it to you in a form you can
use, at no charge.
Formal complaints
You are also entitled to raise a concern under the Americans with Disabilities Act or your state's
equivalent law. We would much rather hear from you first and fix it.
